Ich stehe vor einem fertigen Puzzle-Bild - von weitem betrachtet, wirkt es richtig, jedes Puzzleteil an seinem Platz. Es wirkt fertig. Es wirkt schön. Ich mache einen Schritt näher heran und sehe, dass ein Teilchen herausgefallen ist. Ich hebe das Teilchen auf und bemerke, als ich das Puzzlestückchen in der Hand halte, dass die Rückseite auch eine Abbildung hat. Ich fange an einzelne andere Teilchen zu drehen und erkenne, dass alle auch auf der Rückseite bebildert sind. Irritiert und etwas aufgeregt, fange ich an wie wild an alle Teilchen zu drehen. Ich versuche das neue Puzzle zusammenzusetzen. Nervenaufreibende Momente später betrachte ich das fertige Puzzle wieder. Wow, es ist noch schöner als das Erste. Ich versuche mich an das erste zu erinnern. Und da fällt mir ein Gedanke ein - was, wenn ich nur einige Teilchen drehe? Verwundert bemerke ich, dass dies bei einigen Puzzlestückchen funktioniert.
Einige Zeit später, stehe ich vor einem kleinen Meisterwerk - nein, es entspricht bei weitem nicht dem Bild auf der Verpackung, ist keineswegs wie es „sein“ sollte - nein, viel mehr ist es eine Mischung von Alt & Neu, eine perfekte Abstimmung von allen Farben & Formen - ein Puzzle das ein Leben von Abenteuern, Unsicherheit & Klarheit, Suchen & Finden und vor allem Lebensfreude abbildet.
Lächelnd rahme ich dieses Puzzle ein und werfe die Verpackung weg.
I am standing in front of a finished puzzle picture - from a distance, it looks right, each puzzle piece in its place. It looks finished. It looks beautiful.
I take a step closer and see that a piece has fallen out. I pick up the piece and notice, as I hold the puzzle piece in my hand, that the back also has a picture. I start turning individual other pieces and realize that all of them also have pictures on the back. Irritated and a little excited, I start to turn all the pieces like crazy. I try to put the new puzzle together.
Nerve-wracking moments later, I look at the finished puzzle again. Wow, it's even more beautiful than the first one.
I try to remember the first one. And a thought occurs to me - what if I just rotate a few pieces? Amazed, I notice that this works for some of the puzzle pieces.
Sometime later, I am standing in front of a small masterpiece - no, it does not correspond to the picture on the packaging, it is not at all how it "should" be - no, it is much more a mixture of old & new, a perfect coordination of all colors & shapes - a puzzle that depicts a life of adventures, uncertainty & clarity, searching & finding and above all joy of life.
Smiling, I frame this puzzle and throw away the packaging.
